What I started out doing…
I got up and dressed in workout clothes, intending to walk over to the park and take pictures for a DAR project I’m working on.
Then what happened:
Fed the cats, decided it was very cold in the house, sat down on the couch under a blanket and played on my mobile. Drank a glass of water and a filling fell out of my tooth. Called the dentist and Dr. Z’s schedule was able to accommodate me at 1:15pm. Sat under the blanket on the couch until it was time to go to the dentist. The appointment lasted a mere 10 minutes; a simple re-filling. He said, “No restrictions. Go eat something.” I wonder if he could tell I hadn’t had a bite yet.
Well, while I was all the way down in C-ville, I figured I may as well go over to Cox Farms and make my annual purchase in their market. I didn’t pay the fee and go into the farm to ride all the slides, but I found parking right up front near the market and got my “liquid gold” (apple cider), a jar of pickled beets for my salads, a little pumpkin for my desk at work, and a 6-pack of apple cider doughnuts.
Got back on the road with Waze pointing me up county toward what I’ll call “the other Trader Joe’s I know about”, and then I realized I was simply going to die if I didn’t eat an apple cider doughnut right then and there. Alas, the package was on the backseat behind me. So, at the next red light, I had to put the car in Park and slide my seat backward so I could reach the doughnuts. Spoiler alert: I ate one and therefore did not die. Bonus: Managed to notice the sugar crumbs down my front and brushed them off before anyone else could see.
Turned into the parking lot at Trader Joe’s and in doing so passed the Barnes and Noble, so figured I’d go in there and see what they had, get use out of my membership discount. Came out with a couple of fiction novels from the buy one get one 50% off shelves. Put that stuff in the car before heading into TJ’s. The rows of red carts in front of the store beckoned, but I didn’t like taking the obvious one on the near end, so walked farther into the corral to choose another…turned back around to find two ladies watching and waiting. So I said, “This one just feels luckier.” One of the ladies shrugged and said, “You do you.”
Got home and it’s too overcast to go to the park for pictures. Tomorrow’s weather is supposed to be better anyway, so I’ll put that on my Sunday agenda. Just finished left over Chinese food and now I’m thinking about those apple cider doughnuts again.
