Emergence and Resurgence

Midsummer, when the grass grows so high that it’s hard to keep up with yard work, and verdant brush creeps right up against a woodland path, and floral blooms are happily and repeatedly spent, a certain bit of complacency may take hold. In the autumn, the gold-russet-crimson tones displayed on myriad deciduous specimens, the aroma of wood chips, and rustle of creatures in crackly underbrush, reinvigorates an excitement for seasonal explorations. Wintertime’s frozen splendors send us inside for comfort, but we appreciate window views of towering trees in their icy formalwear, shrubbery decked out in frost, and an occasional observation of wildlife.

But, spring!

In spring, the woodland path doesn’t know whether to be dry or muddy. The old growth gives willing support to competing brighter hues. Fauna is active and bustling in their constructions for home and family. To me, spring is the most magical time for an enchanted ramble.
